Q: Do the teams go to all the tournaments?
A: No, each team attends two tournaments. Please see the chart below for details.

Q: The age divisions in the charts are a bit confusing. Why are there multiple tags per birth year?
A: The U.S. divides their kids into age groups differently than Canada, so please pay close attention to the birth year.

Q: How many people are accepted for the program?
A: TBMFA sends one team per age group, with 8-12 players per team. TBMFA is committed to the quality training and standards offered by our league. It’s important to remember that in order to compete in a Canadian tournament, including provincials and nationals, the team must be part of a sanctioned club or organization, such as TBMFA.

Q: If my child didn’t get into spring league, can they still try out for summer league?
A: Yes! The summer league is a separate league, and we encourage all interested individuals to try out.

Q: What is the cost?
A: The cost to try out is $50 (+ taxes for U16 and above), this cost covers the rental of the facility for the tryouts. If your child is selected for a team, there will be additional cost of $550 for the team registrations (+ taxes for U16 and above) to cover both tournament costs (registrations, uniforms, equipment, field rental, etc.).  Travel and accommodations not included.

Q: We can’t make all three tryout dates for my child’s age group. Can they still try out?
A: Yes. Please ensure your child attends all tryout sessions for their age group that they can. However, if attending all is not possible, they can still be considered for the summer league if they attend at least one session. Feel free to talk to an executive team member for more details.

Q: When does the summer league start practicing?
A: Practices typically begin in late May, after the spring session is over.

Q: What are the dates/times for summer league practices?
A: This is determined by the coach once the team is selected. Practices are held outdoors at various fields around the city, similar to tackle football practices. Generally, there are two practices per week, but they are not typically on weekends.
